Understand the work
What land clearing includes.
Land clearing removes unwanted brush and trees. Stump removal, debris handling, and the required finish are agreed before work begins. Vegetation size, ground conditions, and equipment access determine the method.
Traditional clearing is often needed for larger trees, stump removal, or sites that require debris to be removed. Forestry mulching is another option when suitable brush can be processed and left on site.
Common project goals
- Reclaim overgrown property and open usable space
- Prepare a home, shop, barn, or future building area
- Improve access along trails, driveways, and fence lines
- Discuss storm debris and general property cleanup
Site conditions
What affects the scope?
An estimate considers the work required and the conditions on site.
- 01Vegetation size, density, and material handling
- 02Acreage, terrain, slope, and ground conditions
- 03Gates, equipment access, and features to preserve
- 04The intended finish and what happens after clearing
Before requesting an estimate
Details to have ready.
Describe the finished result first. Then note access points, vegetation you want to keep, any known obstacles, and where material could be handled. A rough map outline can help explain the work area; a precise drawing is not needed to start planning.

Common questions.
01Does clearing include stump removal?
Stump handling depends on the method and agreed scope. Mention whether the finished area needs to be ready for construction, pasture, trails, or another use so that requirement can be discussed.
02Is clearing priced only by the acre?
No. Acreage is one factor, alongside vegetation, access, terrain, material handling, and the finish requested. Final scope and pricing are confirmed after the property is evaluated.
03Can I choose areas or trees to keep?
Yes. Identify the trees and areas to keep before work begins, and confirm the clearing boundaries with Wayne.
